hey'y'all

I am currently undergoing therapy since my arm problem is a bit more complicated than what I thought, it is related to the tension in my right arm muscles and also to my spine, it seems than my constant drawing and ignoring most of my arm pain up until today resulted in an annoying problem.

My back isn't straight, it looks straight but some of the bones go out of their way towards the right in the middle of my back, it doesn't actually hurt but the doctor said it might prove to be a serious problem in years to come so yeah. the only thing that still actually hurts is my shoulder, still I'm forbidden from drawing.

I've been felling sad and so down because of it, I miss drawing, most of my life comes down to drawing so it's sort of horrible and weird to be forbidden specially since my arm doesn't even hurt that much anymore lol

so yeah, I'll be traveling a bit with my family either way, I'm pretty sure I'll be updating my instagram and might sneak in a doodle or two, I haven't drawn in more than a week so it can't hurt that much :V

My arm got worse over night and I can’t pick up anything or do any strength without it shaking a lot so I’m taking an art vacation :V

Hey

I am writing this jornal because I believe I may have a muscle problem due to drawing, so what better way to clear doubts than to ask other artists about it?

Lately every time I draw or do anything that requires a bit more arm moving I feel a lot of pain in my drawing arm. I am used to getting tendinitis, those appear often if I draw way too much, I have everything I need to take care of them, but this is the first time something affects the whole arm, and by that I mean it is the first time I experience pain from the elbow to the shoulder.

it’s pretty uncomfortable and it has me sort of worried if I’m starting to develop a serious tendon problem

has anyone felt the same?

I drew all the ponies, should I upload them in a group picture (LIKE THE EEVEELUTIONS) or individually

I don't mean to pry my dear, but I'm curious what brush settings you use to get that thick, blended paint look like in your most recent piece of work:

I've been trying to get that kind of look as well and have been struggling. It just gives a painting so much more life. c:

I usually use a large brush at 90% opacity and 85% fill, I think that putting off all the colors you want in your piece in an ambiguous way and then working off the shapes you want gradually using  the color pick will help you get a more 'painting' look

I'm sorry if I don't make much sense, I might do a tutorial for my next piece in this style, it would be easier to explain with pictures

but basicly I use 2 brushes (one big for the overall color placemente and sketch) and a medium one to 'sculpt', always at 90% opacity and 85% fill.

I understood you! It's kind of how I work speedpaints and landscape paintings. Thanks for the insight! I'd be great to see a tutorial from you if you have the tome. Always love seeing how my favorite artists construct their workflow. c:
